theological currents impacting ministry

Many of our theological constructions are increasingly found to be modern. What rethinking is happening and what does this mean for the practical everyday stuff of ministry? You may be surprised.

leadership development and training leaders

No church ever seems to have enough leaders, but creating a leadership ethos is part of the fix. This is critical for 21st century effectiveness.

church model transition

If you haven’t noticed, the way we’ve been doing church isn’t working in most locations in North America. People aren’t flocking to our buildings or beating our doors down to get in. There are new containers for doing church though. What are they? How are they shaped? What could we safely experiment with?

creative cultural engagement

Part of recognizing that church, as currently configured, isn’t working well is learning to read the signs of the times. This is called semiotics. Ron can help you learn to read the landscape so you can begin to interface with the culture around you better. The area of semiotics will become one of the most important tools and postures of ministry in the new millennia.

COST is dependent on the number of days/months of the consultation. Email us at velocitylearning@gmail.com for details and a proposal.

morph! staff meeting with Ron

Morph of the Leader, Morph of the Team- Are you and your team ready for 2010?

“Someone has to see the future, chart the course for 2010, lay the plans architect the team, spawn creativity, and then with perseverance intersect the culture into which we are called to live and speak.  In God’s plan that is the role of your leadership team.  Leaders are willing to run the ragged edge of risck taking and do what is necessary to see the church become the full-blown life-development center that God intends it to be.”(Morph! by Ron Martoia, page 36)

As you approach 2010 we at Ron Martoia’s velocityculture would love to offer you a couple of resources to evaluate/reevaluate your current ministry location and strategy for traversing the new cultural context in which we are positioned.

Is your mission clear? If your mission is clear,  are your vision and strategies aligned with where you live, your very specific cultural context?   Is your vision based on good semiotics (reading of the times) and based on good research tactics to determine where you sit locally/nationally?  Are you planning based on what you see working in other locations or are you familiar with methods of context awareness for the very customized and specific work that God has breathed on your context?  Are your strategies aligned with your 2010 goals?

We hope that you will take us up on two steps in the next month to move forward in the analysis and conversation surrounding  your local ministry leadership work and goals for 2010.

1.  Request (by emailing us at velocitylearning@gmail.com) a copy of chapter 3 from Morph! titled Cellular Leadership:  The Counter-Intuitive Move Inward

2.  We hope you and leadership team will read the  chapter from Ron\\\’s leadership book titled Morph!.  Simply copy the pages and distribute at your next leadership/staff meeting.  Ask your team to read the chapter and write out responses to the questions at the end of the chapter prior to your followup session which we recommend being no longer than 10 days from the day that the chapter was distributed.

3.   At the followup session review the questions, allowing a different person on staff to lead the discussion of each question.

This will allow you to evaulate the cohesion of understanding of mission, vision, values, and your strategic alignment for the goals set for 2010.  As the leader of this process you may want to think about …

Am I clear enough on the mission to monster goals for our church, departments steps to pull them off, and resources aligned so at the end of 2010 there is definite progress.

This is what 2010 preparation should be about.

RON WOULD LOVE TO PARTICIPATE WITH YOUR GROUP AT A STAFF MEETING VIA  A VIDEO CONFERENCE

Consider having  Ron sit in on the followup meeting to guide the discussion and then give you some followup steps to continue with vision and strategy alignment.  Cost for Ron to video conference in for two hours and a followup 30 minute evaluation is $350.00.

To order the 2 hour staff meeting  and  1/2 hour evaluation with Ron simply go to the products page  or store here on the site to order.
